Sweden vs Slovakia Predictions

Both Sweden and Slovakia have been in strong form and are level on 10 points in the group. When they last met, an exciting clash ended in a 2-2 draw - I expect much the same here.

  • Sweden have scored 11 goals in their last 4 matches.
  • Sweden’s Viktor Gyokeres has scored 11 goals in his last 6 matches for Sporting Lisbon.
  • Sweden have seen BTTS in 2 of their last 3 matches against Slovakia.
  • Slovakia have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 7 matches.

Head to Head

Sweden have a 4-0 advantage against Slovakia with 4 draws in 8 matches.

They last met in October, the game ending in a 2-2 draw.

Sweden Form

Sweden are currently sharing the top of the Nations League C group with Slovakia, both teams collecting ten points in four encounters.

The Swedes kicked off the campaign with two back to back victories in September, outplaying Azerbaijan 3-1 in Baku and Estonia 3-0 at home.

They were close to claiming third straight victory in October against Slovakia, had a 2-0 lead with Yasin Ayari and Ken Sema finding the net in the first half, but conceded two goals and won just a point (2-2).

The Blue and Yellows returned to winning ways a couple of days later with a 3-0 win against Estonia in Tallinn, Sebastian Nanasi being man of the match scoring a brace.

Goalkeeper Robin Olsen withdrew from the squad.

Ludwig Augustinsson and Anthony Elanga were not called up.

Slovakia Form

Slovakia are having a good campaign so far in the Nations League, collecting ten points in four games and share the top of the table with Sweden.

They started the new season with two clean victories in September against Estonia 1-0 and Azerbaijan 2-0, while winning a point in the third round against Sweden 2-2 with David Strelec scoring a brace.

The Falcons bounced back in the fourth round in mid-October and defeated Azerbaijan 3-1 in Baku, Rahil Memmedov (own goal), David Duris and Lukas Haraslin appearing on the scoresheet.

Verdict

Both sides are scoring more than two goals per UNL encounter. Their first h2h ended in a 2-2 draw, so BTTS is the best bet. Viktor Gyokeres is having unreal stats this season with Sporting Lisbon and I will back him to find the net on Saturday.
