  • Both teams have a history of goalscoring encounters; BTTS likely.
  • Netherlands' UEFA Nations League form is shaky, with key players like Dumfries vital.
  • Hungary also in second place, showing improved form in recent matches.

Netherlands vs Hungary Tips

These sides have not been keeping many clean sheets, so my best bet is BTTS.

  • Netherlands have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • Netherlands have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 7 matches against Hungary.
  • Hungary have scored 3 goals in their last 2 matches.

Head to Head

Netherlands have a 9-3 advantage against Hungary with 3 draws in 15 matches.

They last met in October, the game ending in a 1-1 draw.

Netherlands Form

Netherlands are having a disappointing run in the UEFA Nations League, having won just one of four games and currently sit in 2nd place with five points.

Oranje kicked off their campaign with a convincing 5-2 home victory against Bosnia & Herzegovina, followed by a 2-2 draw against Germany in Amsterdam. Tijani Reijnders appeared on the scoresheet on both occasions.

Netherlands were in trouble in the third round, conceded an early goal against Hungary while Virgil van Dijk was sent off in 79th minute. However, Denzel Dumfries found an equalizer just four minutes later.

Ronald Koeman’s side lost their most recent appearance to Germany 1-0, ending the match with 0.13-0.91 expected goals, 51% possession and 3-13 shots.

Marten de Roon is injured, while Nathan Ake didn't make it to the final list.

Xavi Simons recovered from an injury recently and wasn't called up as precautionary measure.

Hungary Form

Hungary had a disastrous start to the new UEFA Nations League season, suffering a 5-0 defeat to Germany. Their first home appearance a couple of days later was also a disappointment, a goalless draw against Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The Tricolours improved their form in October matches, starting with a 1-1 home draw against the Netherlands. The first victory was secured a couple of days later in Zenica against Bosnia & Herzegovina 2-0 with Dominik Szoboszlai scoring a brace.

Hungary is currently sharing the second place in the group with Netherlands, both sides grabbing five points in four matches but the Magyars having weaker goal difference.

Daniel Gazdag and Krisztofer Horváth are injured.

Martin Adam and Péter Gulácsi were not called up after featuring against Bosnia in October.

Verdict

Six of the last seven head to head clashes between these sides have seen BTTS. Hungary improved their efficiency in October, so I am expecting a lot of action at both ends in Amsterdam.
