The Azzurri began Euro 2020 with a 3-0 win against Turkey. They beat Switzerland 3-0 and beat Wales 1-0 in their final group game.

Roberto Mancini’s side did it the hard way against Austria in the Round of 16. Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina scored in extra time to establish a 2-0 lead and they held on for a 2-1 win.

Italy beat Belgium 2-1 in the quarter-finals, Nicolo Barella opening the scoring and Lorenzo Insigne making it 2-0 before half time. They defended well in the closing stages under pressure from the Red Devils.

Midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini remains injured but Roberto Mancini has plenty of options with Nicolo Barella set to partner Jorginho and Marco Verratti in the middle of the park. 

Full back Alessandro Florenzi is doubtful and left back Leonardo Spinazzola is out injured. Emerson and Rafael Toloi are options to start in defence.

Spain Form


Spain are undefeated in their last 12 matches. They have won four of those with eight draws.

Luis Enrique’s side started Euro 2020 with a 0-0 draw against Sweden despite having 85% possession and 17-4 shots. La Roja drew 1-1 against Poland before beating Slovakia 5-0 in their final group game.

Spain fell behind early against Croatia in the Round of 16 after Unai Simon’s error. Pablo Sarabia, César Azpilicueta and Ferran Torres scored to make it 3-1 before conceding two late goals to go to extra time. Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal scored as they advanced with a 5-3 win.

Spain beat Switzerland in a penalty shootout in the quarter-finals. They went ahead through an own goal in the 8th minute, conceded in the 68th minute and couldn’t score against 20 men for the final 43 minutes.

Dani Olmo, Gerard Moreno and Mikel Oyarzabal struck their spot kicks sweetly as the Swiss missed three penalties.
