Head to Head

When these two met a week ago, Roma took a 1-1 draw in Porto.

Roma Form

Roma have been inconsistent this season but remain strong at home, winning by 2+ goals in seven of their last eight matches at Stadio Olimpico.

Claudio Ranieri’s side have managed to win their previous two games on the road, both in Serie A. They won 1-0 at Venezia thanks to Paulo Dybala’s penalty and 1-0 at Parma on Sunday where they played against 10 men for an hour.

The Italian club drew 1-1 at Porto in the Europa League last week. Zeki Celik opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time, holding on for a point after Bryan Cristante was sent off in the 72nd minute.

Porto Form

Porto are unbeaten in five matches since Martin Anselmi became the new manager. His first game in charge was a 1-0 win against Maccabi Tel Aviv that kept them alive in the Europa League.

The Dragons returned to the Primeira Liga with a 1-1 draw against Santa Clara and 2-2 draw at Rio Ave. They drew 1-1 against Roma in the Europa League last week, playing against 10 men for the final 20 minutes.

Porto won 1-0 at Farense on Sunday thanks to another goal from Francisco Moura. Fabio Vieira assisted the goal in a man of the match performance.

Injuries & Team News

Roma’s Devyne Rensch and Paulo Dybala are injured. Bryan Cristante and Alexis Saelemaekers are both suspended.

Porto’s Martim Fernandes and Marko Grujic are injured. Vasco Sousa is gone for the season after undergoing knee surgery.

Verdict

Roma are playing very well at home, regularly winning by 2+ goals in the Italian capital. Porto have been below their best in recent weeks, my money on a home win here.
