Head to Head
Celtic and Bayern Munich have met on four previous occasions. Bayern won three of those matches, including a 2-1 win at Parkhead in their most recent encounter in 2017.
Celtic Form
Celtic warmed up for Wednesday´s crunch UCL tie with a dominant 5-0 win against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup last Saturday. Daizen Maeda helped himself to a hat-trick as the Hoops breezed past their lower league visitors.
Brendan Rodgers's in-form side won five of their last six matches, with 14 goals scored in their three most recent victories against Raith, Dundee and Motherwell.
Particularly strong at Parkhead, the Hoops remain unbeaten in 34 competitive fixtures on the East side of Glasgow since 2023.
Celtic Team News
Celtic boss Rodgers has a couple of expected absentees this week. Paulo Bernardo and James Forrest are both likely to remain sidelined for the home side.
Elsewhere, Daizen Maeda is free to play after his suspension was overturned, while January signing Jota is likely to feature in a three-pronged Celtic forward line.
Bayern Munich Form
Bayern make the trip to Glasgow in high spirits after extending their winning run in the Bundesliga to seven matches on Saturday. A brace of penalties from Harry Kane helped secure a 3-0 win against Werder Bremen.
Vincent Kompany's side have been less consistent on the European stage this season. The Bavarians slipped to three defeats in the UCL league phase, including a shock 3-0 reversal against Feyenoord in their most recent away trip.
The Germans have largely struggled in recent away fixtures in the UCL. Bayern lost five while winning just one of seven road games in the Champions League since the end of 2023.
Bayern Munich Team News
Bayern boss Kompany has a few injury concerns ahead of Wednesday's trip to Glasgow.
Joao Palhinha and Serge Gnabry could remain sidelined after both missed the weekend win against Werder due to illness. Alphonso Davies is a definite absentee with a hamstring injury.
Verdict
Celtic can make this a tricky night for Bayern, with goals expected at both ends.
BTTS is my top tip, and I wouldn't be shocked to see the hosts emerge with a draw or more on Wednesday.
