After this weekend’s round of 16 in the Carling Knockout Cup, the draw has taken place for the quarter-finals.

The round is headlined by Kaizer Chiefs to Mamelodi Sundowns. The holders of the competition, Stellenbosch FC will travel to face Marumo Gallants.

How the Draw Was Made

As per the rules and regulations of the competition, the quarter-final draw is seeded. Last season’s top eight finishers in the Betway Premiership are seeded whilst the remaining eight clubs were not.

For the last eight, Chiefs were not seeded and drew the champions.

Carling Knockout Cup Prize Money

The winner of the Carling Knockout will pocket R6.85 million with the runners-up taking home R2.85 million.

The semi-finalists will receive R1.35 million each. The quarter-finalists will earn R850,000 and the eight teams knocked out in the round of 16 will only earn R550,000 each.
