Sevilla vs Mallorca Tips

Sevilla have won just five of their 12 home games in La Liga this season, while two of their last four contests ended without a winner. Mallorca looked solid in last weekend’s win over Las Palmas, so a draw is likely in Spain.

Head to Head

Sevilla have a 17-8 advantage against Mallorca with 12 draws in 37 matches.

They last met in August, the game ending in a goalless draw in Mallorca.

Sevilla Form

As has been the case throughout the season, Sevilla have struggled with consistency in recent weeks, picking up just five points from their last four La Liga games. They currently sit in 13th place.

Xavier Garcia Pimienta’s side began the month with a goalless draw at Getafe, followed by a heavy 4-1 home defeat to Barcelona, with Ruben Vargas scoring a consolation goal.

Last weekend, Sevilla got back to winning ways with a dominant 4-0 victory over Real Valladolid. Juanlu Sanchez and Isaac Romero found the net in the first half, before Juanlu struck again in the 67th minute. Dodi Lukebakio sealed the win later on.

Mallorca Form

Mallorca’s hopes of European qualification have taken a hit recently, as they have collected just four points from their last five La Liga games, dropping to 7th place.

After three consecutive defeats in late January—4-0 to Villarreal, 1-0 to Real Betis, and 2-0 to Atletico Madrid—the Pirates were minutes away from beating Osasuna but conceded a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw. Vedat Muriqi had given them the lead in the 82nd minute.

Mallorca’s winless run finally ended last weekend in front of their home crowd with a 3-1 victory over Las Palmas, scoring all three goals in the first half. Muriqi was the standout performer, netting a brace, while Dani Rodriguez also got on the scoresheet.

Team News

Albert Sambi Lokonga, Akor Adams and Tanguy Nianzou are injured for Sevilla, while Saul Niguez and Loic Bade are back after serving suspensions last weekend against Valladolid.

As for the visitors, Samu Costa and Manu Morlanes are doubtful.

Verdict

Mallorca are looking good recently with four points from their last two La Liga games. Sevilla won just five of their 12 La Liga appearances at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium this season, so I am backing a draw on Monday.
