Swallows started this season in fine form but things have gone pear-shaped. After a five-match winless run, their players went on strike and it led to two forfeited matches.

With the players refusing to play, Swallows failed to arrive for clashes at Mamelodi Sundowns and at home to Golden Arrows. They were handed 3-0 walkover losses by the PSL disciplinary committee.

The club have parted ways with coach Steve Komphela and around 20 players. Their starting XI will be a mystery for this match.

Ntsikeyelo Nyauza has joined in defence. Gabadinho Mhango rejoined the club after initially having his deal terminated.

Polokwane have won just once in eight fixtures. They’re eight points above the drop zone thanks to a strong start to the campaign.

A 3-0 loss at TS Galaxy highlighted their dip in form. A 1-0 home loss followed to Kaizer Chiefs before a crucial 2-1 victory away at Chippa United.

Their last match saw them park the bus and have some referee decisions go in their favour. It led to an excellent result – a 0-0 draw away at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Polokwane have no suspensions for this match. Veteran forward Ndumiso Mabena is an injury doubt.

Oswin Appollis will return to the XI after going to the AFCON but not featuring.
