Magesi sit at the foot of the PSL table having lost six of their 11 fixtures. They miraculously won the Carling Knockout Cup but coach Clinton Larsen resigned soon after winning that trophy.

A shock 2-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the final was followed by a 2-0 PSL loss at Chippa United. After losing 3-1 at Marumo Gallants followed, they lost 1-0 at SuperSport United.

New coach Owen Da Gama oversaw a 1-0 home loss to Orlando Pirates in his first match in charge. A 0-0 draw at TS Galaxy ended a four-match losing streak.

Centre back Lehlegonolo Mokone is suspended for this match. Key right back Delano Abrahams is an injury doubt at right back and there’s a question mark over winger Edmore Chirambadare.

High profile attackers like Gift Motupa and Kgaogelo Sekgota could be recalled under the new coach. Both were out of favour under the previous regime.

Usuthu have been in improved form of late to climb the table. They had a run of four wins in six matches before two disappointing home results.

They beat Royal AM 2-1 at home to make it nine points from four fixtures. A 90th-minute 1-0 loss at Mamelodi Sundowns was followed by a 1-0 win at Cape Town City despite allowing 15 shots.

Their last two matches saw dropped points at home. A 0-0 stalemate versus Golden Arrows preceded a 2-0 loss to poor travellers in Sekhukhune United on Wednesday.

Centre forward Sede Dion has departed the club with Elmo Kambindu arriving to boost options up front. Bongani Zungu could make his first start in central midfield.

Coach Arthur Zwane has a settled back four. That could mean another match on the bench for Abbubakar Mobara.
