Kaizer Chiefs vs Cape Town City Predictions

I see Chiefs piling misery on City in a home win. The visitors are not scoring goals and their performance levels are below par of late.

Cape Town City hold a 10-7 advantage against Kaizer Chiefs across 21 previous meetings with four draws.

City won 1-0 at home when the clubs met in January.

Chiefs are eighth in the PSL table but the gap to the CAF places is just three points. They reached the Nedbank Cup semi-final on Saturday.

A 1-0 league win at Stellenbosch was followed by a 3-0 home win over Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup. Two defeats followed, 4-1 at home to SuperSport United a 1-0 at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi bounced back by outshooting Magesi 17-4 in a 1-0 win. On Saturday, two very late goals sealed a 3-1 win vs Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi has a doubt over defender Rushwin Dortley due to injury. Given Msimango is on standby to cover.

Two forwards are injured in Tashreeq Morris and Wandile Duba. Sibongiseni Mthethwa is injured in midfield with Nkosingiphile Ngcobo hoping to get another rare start.

Kaizer Chiefs Predicted Lineup

Bvuma; Frosler, Miguel, Msimango, Dove; Cele, Ngcobo; Lilepo, Sirino, Mmodi; Du Preez.

Cape Town City Form & Team News

City are in very poor form with six losses in the last eight fixtures. They sit 10th in the PSL table with a five-point buffer to the relegation places.

A dire 2-0 loss at Magesi saw no shots on target before a 2-0 home loss to Chippa United. A 2-1 defeat at Orlando Pirates and a 2-0 loss at AmaZulu followed.

Their last match saw a 1-1 home draw vs a TS Galaxy side with a makeshift defence. City managed just one shot on target in the second half from 64% possession.

Thami Mkhize is injured at right back. Siphamandla Dondolo is set to deputise with Patrick Fisher carrying a knock.

Marquee signing Thulani Serero could make his first start after arriving. Once again, we could see 16-year-old prodigy Emile Witbooi as a substitute.

Cape Town City Predicted Lineup

Keet; Dondolo, Gordinho, Fasika, Nyama; Mokotjo, Makaringe; Rhodes, Serero, Gonzalez; Soukouna.

Verdict

Chiefs are backed to beat City, with the visitors failing to score once again.
