Amakhosi sit sixth in the PSL table. A win last Wednesday ended a five match winless run in all competitions.

After a 1-1 home draw in the first leg of MTN8 semi-final vs Mamelodi Sundowns, they drew 0-0 at home with Royal AM. Successive losses followed, 1-0 at SuperSport United (PSL) and 2-1 at Sundowns (MTN8 second leg).

Last week, they played well in a 2-1 home win over Sekhukhune United after trailing 1-0. Chiefs outshot their opponents 19-8 in the victory.

Defensive midfield Sibongiseni Mthethwa is pushing for a first start. He made his debut as a substitute in the last match.

A 1-0 home defeat to Sekhukhune United ended a run of eight home matches without defeat. They lost 2-0 at Orlando Pirates and conceded twice in added time to lose 3-2 at AmaZulu.

City ended their losing streak with a 0-0 draw at TS Galaxy. On Saturday, they came from behind to beat Cape Town Spurs 3-1 at home in a derby match.

Coach Eric Tinkler is without injured central defender Nathan Fasika. Fellow defender Taariq Fielies has departed for AmaZulu.

In a busy week, some changes to the XI are possible. Lorenzo Gordinho could play against his former club at the back whilst veteran midfielder Thato Mokeke may start too.
