Second Carling Knockout Cup Draw Made


Earlier this week, the draw was made for the second edition of the Carling Knockout Cup. The tournament began last season as a replacement for the Telkom Knockout Cup.

Stellenbosch won the first edition by beating TS Galaxy in the final.

How the Draw Was Made


As per the rules and regulations of the competition, the last 16 is seeded. Last season’s top eight finishers in the Betway Premiership are seeded whilst the remaining eight clubs were not. 

Carling Knockout Cup Prize Money


The winner of the Carling Knockout will pocket R6.85 million with the runners-up taking home R2.85 million.

The semi-finalists will receive R1.35 million each. The teams reaching the quarter-finals will earn R850,000 and those knocked out in the round of 16 will earn R550,000 each.

The PSL are yet to confirm the dates, kickoff times and venues for the matches. The matches are set to be played over the weekend of 18-20 October after the FIFA break.
