Orlando Pirates vs Stellenbosch Predictions - Durban to see extra time in MTN8 final

Orlando Pirates hold a 5-4 advantage over Stellenbosch across 13 previous meetings with four draws.

The sides last met in December as Stellenbosch won 3-2 at Pirates in a league clash.

Pirates have played ten matches this season without a single defeat. They reached this MTN8 final and progressed to the CAF Champions League stages after a qualifying tie.

They beat Cape Town City 2-0 to reach the MTN8 final (3-1 aggregate) and tasted victory over Jwaneng Galaxy 2-0 away in a CAF clash. A late 2-1 PSL home win over Chippa United followed.

After beating Jwaneng Galaxy 1-0 at home, they scored three goals in the second half in a 3-0 win over Polokwane City. Last Sunday, a 82nd-minute goal sealed a 1-0 league win at Richards Bay.

Coach Jose Riveiro is without right back Deano Van Rooyen who is cup-tied. Paseka Mako is fit at left back after knee surgery. 

Tapelo Xoki is still injured in defence but Olisa Ndah returns at the back. Kabelo Dlamini is pushing for a start after his late goal last Sunday.

A 2-0 aggregate win vs Mamelodi Sundowns (1-0 in both legs) saw them into the MTN8 final. A 2-0 home win vs AS Vita Club was followed by a surprise 2-0 home loss vs Golden Arrows.

Stellies then went to DR Congo and drew 1-1 vs Vita Club with ten men to progress 3-1 on aggregate. After a 3-0 home win over Cape Town City and a 1-1 draw at Polokwane City followed in the league.

Coach Steve Barker will recall Jayden Adams after a rest. Sage Stephens is available in goal after serving a one-game suspension.

Stellenbosch must decide between a midfield diamond and a 4-2-3-1 system for this clash.
