South Africa vs Congo DR Predictions - Confident Congolese to win sixth straight match

South Africa hold a 2-1 advantage over DR Congo across four previous meetings with one draw. 

The teams last met in October 2005 as they drew 2-2 in a World Cup qualifier.

Bafana Bafana have only lost once in their last 11 fixtures. They won 2-1 away in Liberia to reach AFCON 2023 and followed that by beating Morocco 2-1 at home. 

South Africa have since finished third in the COSAFA Cup. They lost 2-1 to Zambia in the semi-final and beat Malawi on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the third place playoff.

On Saturday, they drew 0-0 at home to Namibia. Several fringe players were used in the match.

Coach Hugo Broos is without injured midfield Teboho Mokoena. Grant Margeman could replace him after making his debut on Saturday.

Ronwen Williams is set for a recall in goal. Percy Tau and Zakhele Lepasa will start up front having been unused subs vs Namibia.

The Leopards have won each of their last five matches to nil. Four of those were in AFCON 2023 qualifying where they topped their group.

After beating Mauritania 3-0 both home and away, they beat Uganda 1-0 in a friendly. A 2-0 victory away at Gabon followed in a qualifier.

On Saturday, they had a 2-0 home success over Sudan. Theo Bongonda and striker Fiston Kalala Mayele netted the goals.

Coach Sebastien Desabre has selected a strong squad. Brentford FC forward Yoane Wissa is the key man and he has started this season in fine form. 

Chancel Mbemba will anchor the defence. Luton midfielder Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu is recalled and Cedric Bakambu returns up front after suspension.
