Poland vs Ukraine Predictions - Goals expected in Warsaw

When these sides last met, Poland won 2-0 in 2020. 

Poland struggled in the EURO 2024 qualifiers, earning just 11 points from their eight matches (three wins, two draws, and three defeats) in Group E, finishing behind the Czech Republic and Albania. 

After that unsuccessful run, the Polish team had one more chance to qualify through the UEFA Nations League playoffs. They began the playoffs with a convincing 5-1 victory in the semifinal against Estonia, Nicola Zalewski being the man of the match with three assists. 

In the grand final, the Red and Whites faced Wales in Cardiff, with both regular and extra-time ending without goals. Poland emerged victorious after a penalty shootout, securing their EURO 2024 ticket.

Ukraine are coming off a solid performance with a goalless draw against Germany on Monday in Nurnberg. They had 0.53-2.26 expected goals, 43% possession and 7-26 shots in that match. 

The Blue and Yellow had to find their EURO 2024 ticket through the UEFA Nations League playoffs after ending 3rd in the qualifying Group C behind England and Italy.  

Ukraine were in a difficult position in the playoff semifinals against Bosnia & Herzegovina after Mykola Matviienko scored an own goal in the second half. Roman Yaremchuk found the equalizer in 85th minute, while Artem Dovbyk scored the winner just a couple of minutes later.  

Sergey Rebrov’s side then proceeded to beat Iceland 2-1 in the playoff finals to secure a spot in EURO 2024. They were down by one goal in that clash as well, Viktor Tsygankov’s and Mikhaylo Mudryk’s goals then turning things around in the second half.
