Japan completed their World Cup preparations with a dominant 5-0 win against Panama. Nadeshiko had 30 shots and Yui Hasegawa, Risa Shimizu, Aoba Fujino and Moeka Minami were on the scoresheet.

The win followed a 1-0 defeat against Denmark and consecutive wins over Portugal (2-1) and Canada (3-0).

Japan reached the round of 16 at the previous World Cup. Nadeshiko also progressed to the 2015 and 2011 World Cup finals.
