Egypt vs Sierra Leone Predictions
Egypt are huge favourites despite Sierra Leone’s impressive performances in recent times. I am backing the hosts to win comfortably with Mo Salah backed in the goal scoring markets.

- Sierra Leone lost their last match against Egypt.
Head to Head
In three previous encounters, each side has won once along with a draw. They last met in 2023, a match Egypt won 2-0 away from home.
Egypt Form
Egypt are cruising in Group A of the African FIFA World Cup qualifiers. They have won four of their five matches with one draw and have 13 points, five clear of second place.
The North Africans form has been somewhat inconsistent of late with three draws and a defeat in their four matches prior to last weeks encounter in Ethiopia. However, Egypt put that behind them, beating Ethiopia 2-0 with Mohamed Salah again scoring in the 31st minute.
Zizo sealed the deal with a second before the break which meant Egypt spent the final 45 minutes cruising through the game.
Egypt Injuries & Team News
Egypt will want to win again on home soil as that will all but secure them top spot. Salah is certainly worth looking out for in the goal scoring market.
Sierra Leone Form
Sierra Leone have performed above expectations in the qualifiers thus far, winning two, drawing two and losing just once. They are currently third on the table, level on points with Burkina Faso in second.
Last week, on home soil, Sierra Leone produced another strong performance, beating Guinea-Bissau 3-1. Mustapha Bundu opened the scoring before Musa Kamara doubled the lead just after the hour mark.
The visitors pulled a goal back but in the 90th minute, Ibrahim Turay sealed the deal with a third goal for the hosts.
Sierra Leone Injuries & Team News
Sierra Leone have little reason to change much of their squad for this game. They are in good form and while this would be a massive upset, should they even take a point, qualification remains a possibility.
Verdict
Egypt are backed to cover the -2 handicap with Salah tipped to score.
