Cameroon vs Cape Verde Predictions

Cameroon had a solid start to their World Cup qualifiers but did not play well at the AFCON Finals. Cape Verde also had a strong start to their campaign and were in great touch at the Africa Cup of Nations. A BTTS draw is predicted between the two nations.

Cameroon Form

Cameroon contested two World Cup qualifiers last November, cruising to a 3-0 victory over Mauritius at home before drawing 1-1 against Libya away.

The Indomitable Lions did not have the best of times at the AFCON finals at the beginning of 2024, drawing 1-1 against Guinea, losing 3-1 against Senegal and winning 3-2 against the Gambia before going down by two goals to nil against Nigeria in the round of 16.

Cameroon have secured one victory in their last five fixtures, including two losses and two draws. They scored six goals and conceded nine.

The Indomitable Lions have won three of their last five home games, including one loss and one draw. They scored nine goals and conceded two.

Cameroon play better on their home soil despite not having played a competitive match since being knocked out at the Africa Cup of Nations; however, their task to secure maximum points will not be easy, as Cape Verde have been in excellent form lately.

Cape Verde Form

In November last year, Cape Verde started the journey to the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals with a 0-0 draw against Angola at home before beating Eswatini 2-0 away.

Cape Verde had an outstanding tournament at the Africa Cup of Nations finals, edging Ghana 2-1,  beating Mozambique 3-0, drawing 2-2 with Egypt, and defeating Mauritania 1-0 in the round of 16 before being knocked out 2-1 on penalties against South Africa in the quarter-finals after the score ended 0-0.

Cape Verde played two friendlies at the FIFA Series in Saudi Arabia in March this year, beating Guyana 1-0 and Equatorial Guinea by the same scoreline.

The Blue Sharks have won three of their last five away matches, including one loss and one draw. They scored five goals and conceded two in that period.

Cape Verde has been in terrific form lately, winning six of their last ten outings, including three draws and one loss; however, they have yet to defeat Cameroon on their home patch.
