Portugal fell behind in their opening match at Euro 2024, leaving it late to beat Czech Republic 2-1. They equalised through an own goal, Francisco Conceição coming off the bench to score in added time.

The Selecão were too good in a 3-0 victory over Turkey to secure top spot in Group F. Bernardo Silva scored early, another own goal doubling their advantage before Bruno Fernandes wrapped it up.

Roberto Martinez made eight changes to the starting side against Georgia and it showed. They lost 2-0 despite having 72% possession and 22-7 shots, five of those on target.

Portugal went all the way against Slovenia after a 0-0 draw in the Round of 16. Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty was saved in extra time, Diogo Costa coming up big in the penalty shootout where he saved all three spot kicks.

France started Euro 2024 with a 1-0 win against Austria thanks to an own goal. Kylian Mbappé broke his nose in the victory and didn’t feature in a 0-0 draw against Netherlands.

Didier Deschamps’ side drew 1-1 against Poland in their final group game to give up top spot. Mbappé opened the scoring from the penalty spot before they conceded a late penalty.

Les Bleus got past Belgium 1-0 in the Round of 16. They had 19-5 shots but just two of those on target, an 85th minute own goal sending them through.
