Georgia were average in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, finishing fourth in Group A after losing four of their eight games. That included a 7-1 defeat against Spain.

Willy Sagnol’s side qualified via the UEFA Nations League where Budu Zivzivadze scored twice in a 2-0 semi-final win against Luxembourg. The were reduced to 10 men in final against Greece, prevailing in the penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw.

The Crusaders played one friendly in June, a 3-1 win in Montenegro where Otar Kiteishvili, Georges Mikautadze and Budu Zivzivadze found the net.

Georgia started the European Championship with a 3-1 defeat against Turkey, Mikautadze equalising in the first half. Mikautadze opened the scoring in a 1-1 draw against Czechia, goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili man of the match after making 11 saves.

Portugal Form


Portugal won all ten European Championship qualifiers, nine of those victories coming with clean sheets. The only time they conceded was in a 3-2 victory against Slovakia.

The Selecão played twice in March, a 5-2 win against Sweden and 2-0 defeat in Slovenia. They recently played three friendlies, beating Finland 4-2 followed by a 2-1 defeat to Croatia and comfortable 3-0 victory over Republic of Ireland. 

Roberto Martinez’s side left it late to beat Czech Republic in their opening match at Euro 2024. Conceding in the 62nd minute, they equalised through an own goal before Francisco Conceição came off the bench to score in added time.

Portugal were too good for Turkey, winning 3-0 to take top spot in Group F. Bernardo Silva opened the scoring before an own goal, Bruno Fernandes making sure of it shortly after half-time.

Raphaël Guerreiro and Francisco Trincão are injured. Matheus Nunes was called up to replace Otávio.

Rafael Leão is suspended, expect Roberto Martinez to rotate here with Nélson Semedo, João Neves, Diogo Jota and Goncalo Ramos set to start.

Verdict

Portugal have won both matches at Euro 2024 to wrap up top spot in Group F. Changes are likely against Georgia, Diogo Jota to take advantage and fire Portugal to victory.
