France vs Poland Predictoins

France may not have hit their stride just yet but Poland shouldn't offer much of a threat. The Polish have been poor defensively and France are more than capable of exploiting that.

  • Poland have lost their last 2 matches.

Head to Head

France lead Poland 9-3 in their 17 games against one another. There have been five draws.

France Form

France played cautiously in their second Euro 2024 appearance against the Netherlands, the match ending in a goalless draw. They had 1.33-0.39 expected goals, 58% possession and 16-8 shots.

Didier Deschamps earned his 100th victory as the French national coach in the first round, Les Bleus struggling but eventually beating well-organized Austria 1-0, Max Wober scoring an own goal in the first half. They had 2.09-0.59 expected goals, 49% possession and 14-7 shots against the Austrians.

Les Bleus were one of the most dominant teams in the qualifiers, starting the campaign with seven consecutive victories before being stopped on the final day by Greece (2-2 draw in Athens). They topped the group with 22 points ahead of Netherlands, Greece, Republic of Ireland and Gibraltar.

France Squad

Poland Form

Poland are having a disappointing run in Euro 2024, losing both of their games so far and having no chance to reach the next phase.

Adam Buksa broke the deadlock in Poland’s Euro 2024 opening match against Netherlands for the Eagles. They couldn’t hold Oranje though, losing the match 2-1 with Wout Weghorst scoring a late winner, ending the game with 0.98-1.50 expected goals, 35% possession and 11-20 shots in that match.

Poland had a poor start to their second round game against Austria, conceding after just nine minutes. Krzysztof Piatek bagged an equalizer in the first half but the Austrians scored two unanswered goals in the second half to claim an important victory.

They struggled in the qualifiers, earning just 11 points from eight matches (three wins, two draws, and three defeats) in Group E, finishing behind the Czech Republic and Albania. The Euro 2024 ticket was punched through the Nations League playoffs, beating Wales on penalties in the final match.

Poland Squad

Goalkeepers: Wojciech Szczęsny, Łukasz Skorupski, Marcin Bułka, Mateusz Kochalski
Defenders: Jan Bednarek, Bartosz Bereszyński, Jakub Kiwior, Tymoteusz Puchacz, Bartosz Salamon, Paweł Davidowicz, Paweł Bochniewicz, Sebastian Walukiewicz
Midfielders: Kamil Grosicki, Piotr Zieliński, Przemysław Frankowski, Sebastian Szymański, Jakub Moder, Damian Szymański, Nicola Zalewski, Bartosz Slisz, Michał Skóraś, Jakub Piotrowski, Taras Romanczuk, Jakub Kałuziński, Kacper Urbański
Forwards: Robert Lewandowski (captain), Arkadiusz Milik, Karol Świderski, Krzysztof Piątek, Adam Buksa

Verdict

Les Bleus are significantly ahead in terms of quality. They have yet to concede a goal in the tournament, so I will back them to secure a clean win against the struggling and unmotivated opposition.
