England started Euro 2024 with a 1-0 win against Serbia, Jude Bellingham heading home in a game of few chances. Harry Kane opened the scoring in a deserved 1-1 draw against Denmark.

Gareth Southgate’s side closed out Group C with a 0-0 draw against Slovenia which secured top spot. They had 73% possession and 12-4 shots but couldn’t break the deadlock.

The Three Lions fell behind in the first half against Slovakia in the Round of 16. It looked like they were going out until Bellingham’s 94th minute equaliser, Kane scoring in extra time to secure a 2-1 victory.

Marc Guehi is suspended with Ezri Konsa set to partner John Stones in central defence.

Kobbie Mainoo could continue in central midfield with few changes expected from Southgate.

Switzerland Form


Switzerland started the European Championship with a 3-1 win against Hungary where they had 7-2 shots on target. Kwadwo Duah and Michel Aebischer scored in the first half and Breel Embolo came off the bench to score late on.

Murat Yakin’s side earned a deserved 1-1 draw against Scotland, Xherdan Shaqiri getting a start and equalising in the first half.

The Swiss ended Group A with a 1-1 draw against Germany after Dan Ndoye’s first half goal. They went close to securing top spot, conceding in added time which came with a place in the easier half of the draw.

Switzerland took advantage in the Round of 16 where they outplayed Italy in a 2-1 victory. Rubén Vargas assisted Remo Freuler before scoring himself in a man of the match performance.
