Tottenham vs Liverpool Predictions

Liverpool have been in superb form of late and it is hard to see them being stopped, even at Spurs. The hosts form has been very patchy as well which does not help their chances.

  • Tottenham have lost 2 of their last 3 Premier League home games.
  • Tottenham have lost 3 of their previous 4 against Liverpool.
  • Liverpool have won 17 of their last 20 matches.

Head to Head

Liverpool have a 90-49 advantage against Tottenham in 183 meetings with 44 draws. The Reds beat Spurs 4-2 when the sides last met in May.

Tottenham Form

Tottenham have slipped to 10th place in the Premier League after a dip in form. Spurs have taken just seven points from their last six league fixtures.

Ange Postecoglou’s team were on a run of five games without a win before beating Southampton 5-0 on Sunday. They dropped league points in this spell, drawing 1-1 with Fulham and losing 1-0 at Bournemouth and 4-3 against Chelsea.

Spurs sealed back-to-back wins for the first time since early November with a 4-3 cup win over Man United. Dominic Solanke’s brace and goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-Min helped Tottenham to get over the line.

Tottenham Injuries & Team News

Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur will serve the final match of his seven-game ban here.

Defenders Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies are out due to injury.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, forward Richarlison and midfielder Wilson Odobert are also injured and unavailable.

Liverpool Form

Premier League leaders Liverpool are in top form and remain unbeaten in 20 matches in all competitions. Eight league victories have come during this streak.

The Reds won seven in a row between October and December, with big victories over Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid and Man City. Liverpool followed the City win with Premier League draws against Newcastle 3-3 and Fulham 2-2.

A much-changed Liverpool comfortably beat Southampton 2-1 in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott put the Reds 2-0 up after 32 minutes and they saw out the win with 69% possession.

Liverpool Injuries & Team News

Full-back Andy Roberston was sent off against Fulham and is suspended on Sunday.

Fellow defenders Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate are injured and won’t make the squad.

Verdict

Tottenham fielded a strong side on Thursday and that is likely to have consequences against an in-form Liverpool. It’s worth sticking with the Reds, who can defeat injury-struck Spurs in North London.
