Man City have raced to the top of the Premier League table and are unbeaten in five matches. Erling Haaland has also scored 10 of City’s 13 league goals.

The 2023/24 champions won four Premier League games in a row to start their campaign before back-to-back draws. City were held to a goalless Champions League stalemate against Inter Milan and drew 2-2 with Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola’s side responded with a 2-1 EFL Cup win against Championship opponents Watford. Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes put City 2-0 up before half time and City shipped a late goal on 84 minutes.

Man City Injuries

Midfielder Rodri came off injured against Arsenal and is likely to be out long-term.

Forward Oscar Bobb and defender Nathan Ake are also sidelined.

Newcastle are tough to beat at home and have carried their strong home form into the new season. Man City will miss Rodri’s presence in midfield and can drop points at St James’ Park, with Haaland goals likely.
