Head to Head

Man United have a 96-54 advantage against Tottenham in 201 meetings with 51 draws. The teams drew 2-2 in their most recent clash in January.

Man United Form

After losing twice before the September international break, Man United started to show improvements. Erik Ten Hag’s side returned with back-to-back wins, defeating Southampton 3-0 and Barnsley 7-0.

The Red Devils haven’t been able to build momentum and were held to consecutive draws in their next two. United played out a goalless stalemate at Crystal Palace and were wasteful with 2.35 XG.

The Manchester side then gave up a 1-0 lead and drew again with FC Twente at home in the Europa League. Christian Eriksen fired United in front on 35 minutes before the Red Devils shipped an equaliser with 25 minutes to go.

Defenders Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia and Leny Yoro have been ruled out for this clash.

Forward Marcus Rashford returned to the starting lineup against Twente and is set to start on Sunday. He has scored three goals in his last three starts.

Tottenham Form

Tottenham secured just one win from their opening four Premier League matches, losing two and drawing one. The North Londoners suffered two defeats in a row, falling 2-1 against Newcastle and 1-0 to Arsenal.

Spurs have hit back with a three-match winning streak. Ange Postecoglou’s team kick-started their run with a 2-1 cup win at Coventry and a 3-1 triumph against Brentford.

Another victory came on Thursday as Spurs comfortably beat Qarabag 3-0, despite Radu Dragusin’s seventh-minute dismissal. Brennan Johnson netted on 12 minutes before Pape Sarr and Dominic Solanke wrapped up the win in the second period.

Tottenham Injuries & Team News

Midfielder Wilson Odobert and forward Richarlison are injured and unavailable here.

Striker Johnson came off at half time against Qarabag. He is fit and likely to start after scoring three goals in his last three appearances.

Verdict

Man United and Tottenham were in mid-week action and the intensity is likely to drop with a quick turnaround. The Premier League teams are struggling for consistency and a draw appears a strong pick in this even contest.
