Ipswich vs Man City Predictions

Man City have hit a bit of form of late and should be too good for an Ipswhich side that has struggled to compete in the EPL. Over 2.5 goals is certainly a good option.

Head to Head

Ipswich have a 28-24 advantage against Man City in 67 meetings with 15 draws. City beat the Tractor Boys 4-1 when the sides met in August.

Ipswich Form

Ipswich are inside the Premier League’s bottom three on goal difference. The Tractor Boys are winless in 18 of their 21 league games this season, losing 11.

The Suffolk outfit showed signs of form when they defeated Chelsea 2-0 at home and held Fulham 2-2 away. Another win followed in the FA Cup as Ipswich cruised to a 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers.

Kieran McKenna’s side were second-best in a 2-0 home loss to Brighton on Thursday. They allowed 1.06 XG and conceded twice in the second half.

Ipswich Injuries & Team News

Defender Axel Tuanzebe is ruled out through injury.

Forward trio Sam Szmodics, Chiedozie Ogbene and Conor Chaplin are injured and won’t feature here.

Top scorer Liam Delap has eight goals and two assists in the Premier League. He is expected to lead the line on Sunday.

Man City Form

A four-match unbeaten run has helped Man City remain in the Premier League’s top-four race. City are also undefeated in five consecutive matches in all competitions - their best run of form since October.

Pep Guardiola’s team began a run of three successive wins with a comfortable 2-0 win at Leicester. The Citizens followed that result with a commanding 4-1 win over West Ham and an 8-0 cup triumph against Salford.

City were heading towards a 2-0 win at Brentford after Phil Foden scored twice after half time. Guardiola’s side couldn’t see out the win and conceded two late goals.

Man City Injuries & Team News

Centre-back John Stones is in contention to return to action following a long-term injury.

Midfielder Rodri, forward Oscar Bobb and defender Ruben Dias remain sidelined with injuries.

Phil Foden is likely to retain his place in the City starting XI. The midfielder has three goals and one assist in his last three games.

Verdict

Ipswich have lost a lot of home Premier League games this season and City can extend their unbeaten run here. A low outlay on a Citizens victory and over 2.5 goals is the best bet.
