Head to Head
Chelsea have a 15-3 advantage against Brighton in 23 meetings with five draws.
Chelsea Form
Chelsea have found some form recently and are unbeaten in four consecutive fixtures.
The Blue were held to a 1-1 home draw against Crystal Palace before winning three on the spin. Enzo Maresca’s side edged Bournemouth 1-0 away and comfortably beat West Ham 3-0 on Saturday.
Another win came in the EFL Cup as Chelsea beat Barrow 5-0 in a dominant display. The Londoners had 20-5 shots, Christopher Nkunku scored a hat-trick and Pedro Neto was also on the scoresheet.
Chelsea Injuries
Defender Reece James and forward Omari Kellyman are ruled out.
Brighton Form
Fabian Hurzeler has made Brighton a hard side to beat. The German is yet to taste defeat with his new team across 11 fixtures in all competitions.
The South Coast outfit won three successive games to start the season. A 1-1 draw at Arsenal and a 0-0 deadlock with Ipswich then came before a 3-2 cup win against Wolves.
The unbeaten run continued with a 2-2 home draw with Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Brighton trailed, Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck struck but Brighton couldn’t hold on and conceded on 69 minutes.
Brighton Injuries
Midfielders James Milner, Solly March and Matt O'Riley are unavailable due to injury.
Verdict
Chelsea face a tough test against a Brighton side that has shown their quality against the Premier League’s best. The double chance market is appealing here and the Seagulls can maintain their unbeaten run.
