Head to Head

These sides have only met on 20 occasions with Villa winning eight, Brighton four and eight draws.

Aston Villa Form

Aston Villa are struggling after an eight-match winless run and five defeats. The Midlands side have also been poor defensively and conceded 15 goals during this streak.

Villa lost four consecutive games before the international break and returned with a 2-2 home draw with Crystal Palace. Unai Emery’s team then held Juventus to a 0-0 draw in the Champions League.

The Villans were outplayed in a 3-0 defeat at Chelsea last time out. They allowed 1.95 XG, were 2-0 down at half time and shipped a third in the closing stages.

Aston Villa Injuries

First-choice goalkeeper Emi Martinez is unlikely to play here due to a wrist injury.

Midfielder Jacob Ramsey is also out of action with a hamstring issue.

Brentford Form

Thomas Frank’s Brentford are in the top half of the Premier League after taking 20 points from 13 games. The West Londoners have also seen 49 total goals already in the 2024/25 campaign.

The Bees have taken just one of their 20 Premier League points away this season. That sole point came from a goalless draw at Everton, which ended an 11-match run of BTTS results.

Frank’s side responded with a 4-1 comeback victory at home against Leicester. Brentford conceded after 20 minutes before Yoane Wissa struck and Kevin Schade netted a hat-trick.

Brentford Injuries

Defensive trio Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey and Kristoffer Ajer are sidelined due to injury.

Midfielder Josh Dasilva and attacker Gustavo Nunes are also unavailable for the trip to Villa Park.

Verdict

Villa can't keep the goals out and Brentford are among the Premier League’s highest-scoring teams. BTTS and over 2.5 goals are likely to land at Villa Park.
