Zamalek came up short in Morocco, losing 2-1 against RSB Berkane in their CAF Confederation Cup final first-leg encounter last weekend. 

Zamalek did not have a great start against RSB, conceding a penalty early in the contest, which was slotted home after 13 minutes of play before they conceded again in the 32nd minute of the match.

Zamalek got their second half off to a flyer, pulling a goal back a minute after the restart and pressed for an equaliser during the remainder of the game but did not create many chances to find the back of the net.

Nabil Emad Donga will be available for the return leg after coming off during the final stages of the first leg with a muscle strain. 

Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala remains on the sidelines injured and will not be available for selection. 

Seifeddine Jaziri scored against RSB Berkane in the first leg, registering his first goal in the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup. 

Sayed Zizo has been in great touch with four goals and five assists in the competition this season.  

Hamza Mathlouthi has contributed with three goals thus far.

RSB Berkane defeated Zamalek 2-1 at home in their CAF Confederation Cup final first-leg match last weekend. 

RSB Berkane dominated the early exchanges and were awarded a penalty for their efforts, converting from the spot in the 13th minute of the match before doubling their tally after 32 minutes of play to take control of the tie.

Zamalek pulled a goal back soon after the halftime restart and pressed for an equaliser during the remainder of the contest but could not find an opening to score again.

Issoufou Dayo scored the penalty against Zamalek, securing his second goal in the competition.

Adil Tahif was also on the scoresheet, taking his tally to three goals in this edition of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Paul Bassene has been on target with four goals thus far.

Zamalek have played their best football at their stadium in the competition this season and is tipped to produce a win-to-nil performance against RSB Berkane in the second leg with a 2-0 scoreline at full-time.
