CAF Champions League Groups - Sundowns and Pirates Learn Their Fate

Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have learnt their fixtures for the CAF Champions League group stages. Both clubs came through the playoff rounds unscathed to reach this stage of the competition.

Sundowns won 4-0 both home and away vs Mbabane Swallows whilst Pirates had two rounds of preliminary matches. A 4-0 aggregate win over CS-Disciples preceded a 3-0 aggregate success vs Jwaneng Galaxy. 

The Brazilians have drawn two Moroccan clubs in Raja Casablanca and ASFAR. Congolese side Maniema Union completed the group. Bucs are drawn against Al Ahly, CR Belouizdad and Ivorian outfit Stade d’Abidjan.

In addition to the draw being announced, the dates for the Group Stages were also made official. 

The group stage will begin with Matchday 1 on 26 November 2024 and end with Matchday 6 on 18 January 2025.
