Uganda vs Tanzania Predictions

  • Uganda have lost 2 of their last 10 fixtures (all competitions).
  • Uganda have drawn 5 of their last 10 games (all competitions).
  • Tanzania have lost 3 of their last 4 fixtures (all competitions).
  • Tanzania have lost 4 of their last 5 matches against Uganda (all competitions).

Head to Head

Uganda have 11 wins to five over Tanzania, with four draws in 20 meetings across all competitions.

Tanzania defeated Uganda 1-0 in a friendly in Libya the last time they met in September 2022.

The match will take place in Ismailia, Egypt, due to CAF ruling that the stadium in Uganda was not up to standard.

Uganda Form

Uganda have had a poor start to their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, losing 2-0 away to Algeria and drawing 1-1 at home against Niger in June last year.

The Cranes had a decent tournament at the recent African Nations Championship in January this year despite not making it out of the group stages. They drew 0-0 against DR Congo, beat eventual champions Senegal 1-0 and lost 3-1 to the Ivory Coast.

Their last five results across all competitions are L, D, D, W, and L, scoring four goals and letting in six.

The Cranes have lost twice in ten matches, which includes three wins and five draws.

Uganda do not have the advantage of playing on home soil for their match against Tanzania but have better form after their performances at the recent CHAN tournament.

Uganda Team News & Injuries

Coach Milutin Sredojevic has recalled goalkeeper Salim Jamal and defender Joseph Ochaya back into the squad. They have both been out of the setup for the last two years.

Tanzania Form

Tanzania are in last place in Group F after they drew their opening Cup Of Nations qualifying match 1-1 against Niger away before losing 2-0 against Algeria at home.

The Taifa Stars have played two matches in Libya since those results, defeating Uganda 1-0 and losing 2-1 to Libya.

Their last five results across all competitions are W, L, L, W, and L, scoring four goals and conceding six.

The Taifa Stars have won three of their previous six fixtures but have lost three of their last four.

Tanzania will start with some belief they can defeat Uganda again as they got the better of them the last time; however, they don't have the best form coming into this AFCON qualifying match.
