  • Rwanda have conceded 4 goals in 7 away matches in all competitions.

Head to Head

Senegal have the advantage with two victories to none over Rwanda in two meetings across all competitions.

Senegal edged Rwanda 1-0 away from home last year.

Senegal Form

Senegal secured six points and qualification to the AFCON finals after thumping Mozambique 5-1 at home and 1-0 away before picking up a point on the road after drawing 1-1 against Benin.

The Lions of Teranga have not lost in eight matches, registering seven victories and one draw. They have netted 17 goals and let in four at the back.

Senegal have been in great touch at home, winning six of their last seven internationals, including one draw. They have scored 18 goals and conceded four.

Senegal will have the belief they can get the result as they have the home-ground advantage despite fielding a weaker side to contest their final African Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.

Senegal Team News & Injuries

Malick Daff and Pape Bouna Thiaw will take the reins as interim coaches for this fixture against Rwanda.

A host of core players are being rested for this match, including Sadio Mane.

Goalkeepers: Papa Mamadou Sy, Abdoulaye Diakhate, Marco Diouf, Prince Aly Gueye
Defenders: Ousmane Diouf, Junior Marc A. Mendy, Cheikh Oumar Ndiaye, Seydou Sano, Mamadou Sane, Mouhamed Welle, Souleymane Basse, Mohamed Camara, Cheikh Tidiane Sidibe, Woula Massire Sane
Midfielders: M. Lamine Camara, Moussa Ndiaye, Samba Lele Diba, Daouda Diongue, Alpha Amadou Toure, Ousmane Kane, Papa Demba Diop
Forwards: Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly, Amara Diouf, Papa Amadou Diallo, Samba Diallo, Pape Berth Mboup, Ibrahima Seck, Bouly Junior Sambou, Idrissa Gueye, Souleymane Faye, Cheikh Ibra Diouf

Rwanda Form

Rwanda drew 1-1 against Benin away from home and 1-1 in the return fixture at home in their two AFCON qualifiers in March; however, CAF awarded Benin a 3-0 victory over Rwanda as they had fielded an ineligible player.

Rwanda subsequently lost 1-0 at home against Mozambique in June to remain winless in Group K.

The Wasps have lacked consistency lately, securing one victory in their last eight outings, including four losses and three draws. They have scored two goals and conceded eight.

Amavubi have fair form playing away from home, winning two of their last seven games, including two losses and three draws. They have found the back of the net seven times and conceded four.

Rwanda have an opportunity to register their first victory in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers; however, they are not the most prolific scorers and will need to put in a decisive display upfront to get the result.

Rwanda Team News & Injuries

Coach Gerard Buschier has named a 23-man squad to play against Senegal in their final AFCON qualifier.

Goalkeepers:  Ntwari Fiacre, Hakizimana Adolphe and Kimenyi Yves
Defenders: Omborenga Fitina, Serumogo Ali, Ishimwe Ganijuru Elie, Ishimwe Christian, Mutsinzi Ange, Rwatubyaye Abdul, Manzi Thierry, Buregeya Prince and Nshimiyimana Yunussu.
Midfielders: Bizimana Djihad, Iradukunda Siméon, Mugisha Bonheur, Muhozi Fred, Byiringiro Lague, Ruboneka Jean Bosco and Niyibizi Ramadhan
Forwards: Mugenzi Bienvenue, Nshuti Dominique Savio, Mugisha Didier, Hakizimana Muhadjiri, Nshuti Innocent and Mugisha Gilbert

Verdict

Senegal is tipped to come out on top against Rwanda with BTTS and a 2-1 score, as they are difficult to beat on home soil despite fielding a weaker side in their final AFCON qualifier.
