Namibia vs Mali Preview
Mali just need a draw while Namibia must win to have a chance to progress. While the Namibians were excellent in their opener, their performance against South Africa was dire.

I am backing Mali to win this comfortably and to nil.
- Namibia lost their last match 4-0.
- Namibia have failed to score in 5 of their last 7 matches.
- Mali have won their last 2 matches against Namibia.
- Mali have won 7 of their last 9 matches.
Head to Head
Mali have won both previous encounters against Namibia. Their last matchup took place in November 2020, a fixture Mali won 2-1.
Namibia Form
Namibia came into the tournament in decent form but were hardly fancied to rip up too many trees. However, they shocked the tournament in their opening game as they beat Tunisia 1-0.
That result opened the group up which has led to any of the four teams being able to qualify in the last gameweek. That 1-0 upset win was however followed by a 4-0 drubbing by South Africa.
Namibia were nowhere near as physical as in their opener, they couldn’t create much at all as the South Africans suffocated them. Namibia must now win to qualify.
Namibia Injuries & Team News
There will almost certainly be changes to the Namibian side after suffering a 4-0 defeat last time out.
Mali Form
Mali currently top Pool E at AFCON with four points from their two matches. While they are not safe as yet, a draw is enough to see them qualify.
In their opener, Mali defeated South Africa 2-0 in a tightly fought encounter. Mali backed that up with a 1-1 draw against Tunisia, a match which saw both teams score from their only shot on target.
Lassine Sinayoko gave Mali a 10th minute lead, but Tunisia were level by the 20th minute. Despite having 62% possession, Mali couldn’t break through again and had to settle for a point.
