Prior to that, Guinea lost 1-0 at home to Mozambique in a World Cup qualifier after beating Algeria 2-1, a major upset which many saw as a momentum building for the nation.

Tanzania Form

Tanzania, like their opponents, are under some pressure in this fixture. They only managed a point last week in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Coming into the fixture, Tanzania were in decent form having lost just once in five games. They beat Sudan away, drew in Indonesia and beat Zambia away in a World Cup qualifier.

Tanzania would have been confident of taking three points at home against Ethiopia, but the match ended 0-0. The hosts didn’t come close to threatening enough against an Ethiopian side that played very deep.
