Taher Mohamed gave the Egyptians the lead just after the half hour mark, but the hosts leveled matters from the spot in the second half.

Botswana Form

This is precarious position for the Southern African nation as they need a point to guarantee progression. Getting that in Egypt will be very tough.
Botswana have, however, bounced back well after losing their first two games in the group. They suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Mauritania and 4-0 at home to Egypt. They bounced back with successive 1-0 wins, home and away, against Cape Verde.
Last week, Botswana could only manage a 1-1 home draw against Mauritania when victory would have secured their spot at AFCON. After conceding early, Botswana leveled the game in the 18th minute through Gilbert Baruti, but they couldn’t find the crucial second goal.

Botswana have a tough outing last week and are likely to get some fresh legs. But they desperately need a result from this fixture to guarantee their spot at AFCON.
