Burundi vs Burkina Faso Predictions - Burkinabe to beat Les Hirondelles in Abidjan

Burkina Faso hold a 3-0 advantage over Burundi across three clashes.

The sides met last Thursday as Burkina Faso won 4-1 at home. 

Burundi have lost five of their last nine matches. They took four points from June’s World Cup qualifiers.

A 1-1 away draw vs Kenya was followed by a 3-1 win away vs Seychelles. In September, they won 3-1 against Malawi and lost 1-0 at home to Senegal in two AFCON qualifiers. 

On Thursday, they led 1-0 but eventually lost 4-1 away to Burkina Faso. Burundi leaked four goals in 17 minutes on either side of half time. 

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is excluded as he is without a club. Frédéric Nsabiyumva is set to anchor the defence. 

Bienvenue Kanakimana is key up front and scored in recent matches vs Seychelles and Burkina Faso.

The Stallions have won their last two African Cup of Nations qualifiers. They were winless in eight matches before that (four losses, four draws).

In June, they were beaten 2-1 away by Egypt and drew 2-2 at home to Sierra Leone having led 2-0. In September, they scored in the 95th minute to rescue a 1-1 away draw versus Senegal.

A 3-1 home win over Malawi was followed by a 4-1 win over Burundi on Thursday. Bournemouth’s Dango Ouattara scored twice in the victory.

Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen is key in defence. Man City loanee Issa Kabore will add attacking trust from right back.

Speedy left-footers Dango Ouattara and Bertrand Traore continue to be key men in attack.
