Angola have been excellent at the Africa Cup of Nations thus far, winning two and drawing one of their three pool games. They topped their pool above the more fancied Burkina Faso and Algeria.

The Angolans came into the tournament off the back of four successive 0-0 draws. They then held Algeria to a 1-1 draw in their opening before beating Mauritania 3-2.

Angola’s final pool game came against Burkina Faso, a match they won 2-0. However, Burkina Faso enjoyed a touch more possession but had 20 shots at goal to Angola’s six.

Still, a 36th minute strike by Mabululu put Angola ahead before Zini doubled the lead in the 92nd minute.

Needing just a point from the last game to secure progression, Namibia held on for a 0-0 draw against Mali.
