Head to Head

Vannes and Racing 92 meet for the first in the Top 14.

Vannes Form

Vannes scored two converted tries in the first half against Toulon to go into the break with the scores level at 14 all.

Vannes took the lead after scoring another try six minutes after the restart to lead 19-14; however, the remainder of the contest was one-way traffic in favour of the hosts.

Toulon dotted down six tries and five conversions to cruise to a 54-19 victory over Vannes.

Before that result, Vannes lost 43-18 against Toulouse at home and 34-31 against Stade Francais away before defeating Lyon 30-20 at home.

Vannes are 14th in the Top 14 table with five points from four games.

Vannes are still adjusting to life in the Top 14 but will see an opportunity to register another victory when they host a Racing 92 side that have lost their previous six away fixtures on the trot.

Vannes Team News & Injuries

Thomas Moukoro Abouem and Romaric Camou scored a try each in the first half against Toulon.

Francis Saili dotted down in the second half, with Jules Le Nail scoring two conversions.

Racing 92 Form

Racing 92 came up short against La Rochelle last weekend, losing 17-16 after conceding a late try.

Racing trailed La Rochelle by three points at the break after slotting over two penalties but scored a converted try after 55 minutes of play and kicked over a penalty four minutes later to lead La Rochelle 16-9.

However, the visitors would have the last say, scoring a try in the 75th minute of the match and the winning penalty on the stroke of full-time to seal the victory,

Before that narrow loss, Racing lost 31-28 against Catres away and won 33-20 against Clermont at home before losing 52-34 against Bordeaux away.

Racing 92 are 12th in the standings, with six points from four games.

Racing 92 have had mixed results so far this season and often lost away from home in the Top 14 towards the end of their previous campaign.

Racing 92 Team News & Injuries

Racing 92 have expressed interest in signing Ireland and Lions player Jack Conan as a replacement for Springbok captain Siya Kolisi.

Scrum-half Nolan Le Garrec scored all the points for his club last weekend, dotting down for one try and slotting over one conversion and three penalties.

Verdict

Vannes comes into their clash with solid home form and is tipped to cover the +1.5 handicap with a win over Racing 92.
