The form of Toulon has been good in recent weeks with three wins in their last four matches. After losing 27-17 away to La Rochelle, Toulon beat Lyon at home, Oyonnax away and Clermont at home.

Last weekend, Toulon suffered a 23-20 loss to Stade Francais. It was a tight contest throughout, one that could have gone Toulon’s way, and had it done, they may well have finished second.

La Rochelle have had one of their poorer seasons this time around but are still a very strong side. They finished fifth, a decent feat as at one point it looked like they may miss out on the playoffs.

There has been very little consistency for La Rochelle this season, but they do come into this game unbeaten in their last three. They beat Pau 25-23 in mid-May, then saw drew 31-all against European champions, Toulouse away before defeating Racing 92 at home last weekend.

As proven recently, La Rochelle are still among the top sides in France and Europe, but much depends on their mood this season. If they pitch up at Toulon in the right frame of mind, they have every chance of reaching the semis. 

La Rochelle are expected to be at full-strength with no reported fresh injuries.
