Castres vs Toulouse Predictions - Castres to extend winning record over Toulouse

Toulouse have the advantage with 19 victories to 15 against Castres, including one draw in 35 meetings. 

Castres got within touching distance against Lyon away from home last weekend but lost 40-38.

Castres started the second half against Lyon trailing 17-16 before scoring a converted try two minutes after the restart.

Lyon scored 13 unanswered points in the next nine minutes to lead 30-23 before Castres scored a penalty to reduce the deficit.

Lyon found themselves 40-31 ahead at the 72-minute mark before Catres scored a covered try to close the points gap to just two; however, the home side held on to the slender advantage until the final whistle. 

Before that performance, Castres edged Racing 31-28 at home, lost 30-28 against Toulon away and beat Perpignan 27-12 at home.  

Castres Olympique are sixth in the standings with 11 points from four fixtures. 

Castres will fancy their chances to win their encounter against Toulouse at home, as they have defeated their opponent eight times in nine meetings at their stadium, including five consecutive victories.

Louis le Brun slotted over four penalties and three conversions in the match.

Toulouse succumbed to their first defeat of the season in the Top 14, going down by 12 points to 16 against Bordeaux at home last weekend. 

Toulouse got off to the perfect start against Bordeaux, scoring a converted try in the 8th minute of the match.

However, Bordeaux scored the remaining points in the first half to go into the break leading 13-7.

Toulouse closed the gap to a single point after scoring a try after 70 minutes of play but missed the conversion, allowing Bordeaux to kick over a penalty five minutes later to win the match. 

Before that result, Toulouse beat Vannes 43-18 away, La Rochelle 35-27 at home, and Montpellier 11-20 away. 

Toulouse are second in the Top 14 log with 14 points from four matches. 

Toulouse will look to bounce back with a win after their recent loss, but Castres have had their number recently, especially on their home patch.
