Bordeaux vs Bayonne Predictions - Bordeaux to beat Bayonne at home

The Bordeaux Begles have the advantage with 13 victories to six against Bayonne in 19 meetings. 

The Bordeaux Begles scored a 16-12 away victory over the defending Top 14 champions Toulouse last weekend.

Toulouse struck early, scoring a converted try after ten minutes of play before Bordeaux responded with a penalty and two tries to go into the break with a 13-7 lead. 

Toulouse regained the lead with a try ten minutes from time, but Bordeaux extended their lead with a penalty five minutes later. 

Before that result, Bordeaux beat Stade Francais 46-26 at home and lost 28-26 against Lyon away before defeating Racing 52-34 at their stadium.

Bordeaux are top of the standings, with 14 points from four games. 

The Bordeaux Begles will start confidently against Bayonne after their recent triumph and because they have defeated their opponent eight consecutive times at their stadium. 

Joey Carbery remains sidelined with a hand injury.

Louis Bielle-Biarrey and Maxime Lucu each scored a try in the first half against Toulouse.

Matthieu Jalibert and Mateo Garcia slotted home a penalty each. 

Bayonne left it late to secure a close 28-27 victory against Montpellier at home last weekend.

Bayonne started the second half with a 15-0 lead before Montpellier scored two converted tries nine minutes after the restart to close the gap to one point.

Bayonne regained their advantage with two penalties before Montpellier scored 13 points to lead 27-21 with five minutes remaining in the game.

However, Bayonne would have the final say, scoring a converted try in the 79th minute of the match to snatch victory from their opponents.

Before that victory, Bayonne defeated Perpignan 21-19 at home before losing 51-29 against Pau and Clermont 26-10 away. 

Bayonne are 9th in the Top 14 table with nine points from four matches. 

Bayonne did just enough to secure victory in their previous fixture; however, they face an uphill battle to beat Bordeaux at home, as their opponents have won their last six outings at their stadium.

Guillaume Revet scored the opening try against Montpellier. 

Sireli Maqala dotted down two tries last weekend.

Camille Lopez kicked over one conversion and three penalties in the match, whilst Joris Segonds slotted home the winning conversion against Montpellier.
