Waratahs vs Chiefs Predictions

The Waratahs are a tough team to predict this season. They look very good at home but away from home they’ve been quite shocking. This weekend, in Sydney, I fancy them to get within the 10.5 handicap against the Chiefs.

  • Chiefs have won 6 of their last 7 matches.
  • Chiefs have won their last 8 matches against the Waratahs.

Head to Head

The Chiefs have won their last eight matches against the Waratahs.

Waratahs Form

The Waratahs surprised many with their blistering start to the season, winning their opening three games. Currently, after seven matches, they have won four and lost three and find themselves sixth on the table.

The problem for the Tahs’ has been their away form where they’ve failed to pick up a result. At home, they have yet to lose. In Sydney, the Waratahs have beaten the Highlanders, Fijian Drua, Western Force and Brumbies. But on the road, they’ve fallen to the Reds, Hurricanes and Moana.

The last two games were both away, losing 57-12 to the Hurricanes and 45-28 to Moana.

Chiefs Form

The Chiefs find themselves top of the table after the first eight rounds. They have won six and lost one of their seven fixtures to date.

The only loss for the season came away against Fijian Drua. Since that defeat, the Hamilton outfit has beaten the Blues by a point, Moana by 15 points and last week the Reds by 12 points.

While the Chiefs have certainly not looked all-conquering this season, they have found a way to get results.
