Reds vs Brumbies Predictions

The Reds are favourites with a handicap of 3.5 points, however, they will be wary of the Brumbies who have a good recent record against them. However, based on this season, I am backing the Reds to cover the handicap.

  • Reds have won 5 of their last 7 matches.
  • Reds have won their last 3 home matches.
  • Brumbies have won their last 3 matches against the Reds.
  • Brumbies have won 4 of their last 7 matches.
  • Brumbies have lost 2 of their last 3 away matches.

Head to Head

The Brumbies have won their last three matches against the Reds and four of the last five.

Reds Form

The Queensland Reds are third on the table with five wins and two defeats in seven games. They were top last weekend, but defeat has dropped them down two spots.

The Reds won their opening two games of the season before losing out away from home to the Crusaders. They bounced back with a home success against the Waratahs and an away win against the Highlanders before narrowly seeing off the Force in Queensland.

Last week the Reds met the Chiefs in Hamilton, a match that was always going to be tough for them to win. It was a top-of-the-table clash and while the Reds held their own, the 27-15 win for the Chiefs was a relatively fair reflection of the game.

Brumbies Form

The Brumbies have certainly not been as consistent as they normally are in the first half of the campaign. They are still fifth with four wins and three defeats to their name.

An opening round win against Fijian Drua away from home was followed by a surprise home defeat to the Force and a lost to the Chiefs. They bounced back brilliantly, beating the Blues 21-20 in Auckland a week later.

Another home win against Fijian Drua followed before losing 28-23 in Sydney to the Waratahs. Last weekend, the Brumbies got a crucial 34-27 victory over the Highlanders.

Verdict

The Reds are tipped to cover the -3.5-handicap given their very good home performances this season.
