The Hurricanes dominated Super Rugby last season, topping the table after the round robin stage. They lost just two of their 14 group phase game.

After cruising through the quarter-final, the Canes lost out at home to the Chiefs in the semi-final, a very unexpected result. This season the Canes will want to challenge again for the title, but they made an average start last weekend.

Traveling to Christchurch to face the Crusaders is never an easy task, despite the hosts having had a horror season in 2024. The Hurricanes will feel they could have gotten more from the game, but in the end, they lost 33-25, one point shy of a losing bonus point.

Fijian Drua have made the Super Rugby playoffs in the last two seasons. Their inclusion has certainly helped the national side as well while also being competitive in Super Rugby.

What carried Drua last season was their wonderful home record where they achieved some notable results. Their away form will have to, however, improve if they are to challenge for a top four spot.
