Wales topped their group which included a thrashing of Australia although they were fortunate to beat Fiji. In the quarter-final, Wales lost 29-17 to an inspired Argentina side.

Scotland have been playing some very good rugby over the last three years. They have performed well in the Six Nations as well, finishing third last season.

Going into the World Cup last year, Scotland were seen as a team that could produce some upsets. Unfortunately, they were in the group of death which included in-form South Africa and Ireland.

Scotland lost to both sides but comfortably beat Tonga and Romania. While they didn’t advance to the quarter-final, there was little negativity give the tough draw.
