Ireland have to win here and probably get a bonus point to give them momentum towards the back end of the tournament. While the championship isn't out of reach, they will need England to lose.

Regardless of that, Wales have struggled at U20 level and I expect Ireland to win comfortably.

Wales are fifth on the U20 Six Nations table after two weeks. They have struggled in recent seasons at U20 level but will be hopeful of an upset on Friday.

Wales were hammered 63-19 in France in the opening round, a match many of the players will want to forget. They were nowhere near good enough against a good French side.

The Welsh, however, did well to bounce back a week later, beating Italy 20-18 away from home. It was an upset result with Italy looking very good at U20 level.

Wales will be searching for their best combinations throughout the tournament. The players have a great opportunity to start knocking the door down for higher honours considering the national side’s struggles at the moment.

Ireland U-20 Form

Ireland are fourth with one win and one defeat after two rounds. They were certainly hoping for a title challenge again this season but will now require England to make a huge mistake somewhere along the lines.

The Irish lost in round one at home to England (19-3). It was a game Ireland really needed to win but they were bullied for much of it, although their defence held firm for large periods.

Ireland did manage a win in round two, beating Scotland 33-15 away from home. While they got the bonus point win, the performance was a bit scratchy and will need to improve if they are to remain unbeaten in the next three games.
