France defeated Wales twice in 2024 at U20 level and should be far too strong at home this weekend. My best bet is for the hosts to cover the -26.5 handicap.

France beat Wales U20 in the Six Nations and U20 World Rugby Championship in 2024.

France U-20 Form

France were disappointing in the 2024 U20 Six Nations, finishing third with just two wins in five matches. They lost to England and Ireland while also going down to Italy at home.

However, as the French tend to do, they turned it on a few months later at the World U20 Rugby Championships. In the group stage, France finished second, losing to New Zealand by a point but comfortably seeing off Spain and Wales.

France avenged their group stage defeat to the Baby All Blacks in the semi-final, beating New Zealand 55-31. They went on to beat England 21-13 in the final in Cape Town.

France U-20 Injuries & Team News

France always tends to have a strong U20 side and is shown by their performances at this age level. However, like last season, they Do often struggle this early in the season.

Wales U-20 Form

Wales U20 finished fifth in the 2024 U20 Six Nations before putting in a decent performance at the U20 World Rugby Championships. There they lost the seventh-place final 47-31 to South Africa.

During the Six Nations, Wales beat Italy and Scotland but were well beaten by France, Ireland and England. With rugby union as a sport struggling in the country, the U20 side will have to offer some hope for the future.

Not many of the Welsh players have provincial experience at this point so it is tough to judge their squad. They do, however, have a few players from last season which will be beneficial.
