The Sharks have been poor this season, particularly in the URC. However, their form in 2024 has certainly improved which has put them in a position to challenge for a title.

The Durban-based outfit have won five of their last six games in all competitions. Their only defeat came at Glasgow on 19 April. They have beaten Ulster, Edinburgh, Zebre x2 at home and Scarlets away in their last game.

Last weekend the Sharks beat Scarlets 32-27 in Wales. It was a tight encounter, but the Sharks were focused on this weekend with their team selection.

Clermont Form

Clermont will be slightly concerned coming into this semi-final. Their form isn’t poor, but their away performances have been way below par with their last victory on the road coming against Castres towards the end of January this year.

The French outfit were very good last weekend at home, beating Stade Francais 41-18 at home. The week before they were thrashed 41-7 away.

In the quarterfinal of the Challenge Cup, Clermont beat Ulster 53-14 at home.
