We are into the final week of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France. There has been plenty of excitement over the last two months, along with a number of upsets which has seen pre-tournament favourites, France and Ireland, both knocked out.

Many thought that 2023 would be the year the tide turns towards the Northern Hemisphere after the southern half of planet Earth has dominated World Cups since its inception in 1987. Yet, it has not happened, and England remains the only side from the northern half to have won it (2003).

Despite all of that, what we are getting in the Rugby World Cup is arguably the greatest rivalry in Rugby Union. New Zealand vs South Africa! All Blacks vs Springboks!
