The 2023 Rugby World Cup gets underway on 8 September with a blockbuster first up as the hosts France take on the mighty All Blacks at the Stade de France. While France are slight favourites to win the tournament, New Zealand will be looking to upset the odds early on.
Pool A
Pool A looks straightforward on paper. With the top two progressing, it looks certain that it will be France and New Zealand reaching the quarter-finals. However, Italy are playing some very good rugby this year and if either side is off their game, they have the ability to shock the world.
Uruguay and Namibia are the final two sides. No one will give them any chance, but they will fight it out for fourth place and automatic qualification into the next World Cup. They could also both view the Italy game as an opportunity to cause a major upset.
France are ranked No.2 in the world at the moment and thrashed New Zealand the last time they hosted the All Blacks. This is, however, a World Cup so the pressure will be on the hosts. Whoever wins that opening match will almost certainly finish top. The hosts are favourites to top the Pool with betway at 1.80.
